It is interesting to see that BJJ is mostly used as secondary or tertiary style just so they can survive on the ground not so much using it to submit the opponent.
GSP's main art was Karate and he is also a Brown belt in BJJ yet he most often utilises his wrestling skills and is considered by many a wrestler in the cage. One might ar
gue that many wrestlers are recently depending on their striking abilities to win the fight such as; Chuck Liddell and Rashad Evans. This does not necessarily mean they not using their wrestling abilities because when they are standing up they are constantly sprawling, which is a technique from wrestling itself and Chuck Liddell wouldn't have accomplished so much if it wasn't for his ability to sprawl or get back on his feet quickly. Also the fact that a wrestler can decide where he wants the fight to go. If an opponent is an accomplished BJJ fighter a wrestler can sprawl and totally disable that fighting style and do the the same to a striker by grounding and pounding him.To conclude WRESTLING is the most effective art.
